I get so excited about lists and goals. Like a dork. I just love the idea of moving forward, of accomplishing something. So many of my "accomplishments" over the years have been a solitary effort. Certainly not all. But. I love that this is one goal that I can look at and say we did it.
The boyfriend and I had made a goal some months ago to cook 25 dinners together the first year we've been dating. We are so ahead of schedule. You might be thinking, only 25? Emma, I thought you cooked dinner every night. You're a food person.... Yeah. I'd love to. But I work a lot too. And sometimes it's just easier to eat yogurt for dinner. But the point wasn't really about health, it was more about making time to do something together. And we nailed it.
If you follow me on Instagram (emmaredvelvet) then you've already seen our progress all along the way. I love how iPhones and apps like Instagram can enable you to record via photos a goal like this. I doubt that's what the creators had in mind, but I love seeing progress in photos. It motivates me to keep going. xo. Emma
P.S. Apparently we are a risotto and shrimp taco kind of couple. :)
