For almost nine months now I have been teasing my boyfriend about this chest. Yes, I am that kind of naggy girlfriend. Apparently. If I'm being wholly honest then I must admit that it wasn't really an ugly chest to begin with. Maybe ugly, but certainly not ugly. (Subtle difference only printed can appreciate.) Just kidding, it simply didn't suit my taste. And so I did what any (naggy) girlfriend does. I suggested we change it. And then I relentlessly teased.
I'm sort of being dramatic for comedic effect, he was mostly into the idea of changing it anyway. So we tossed around a few different ideas and landed on something pretty simple. White paint. Leather belt closure. Bronze handles. The end.
It only took two weekends to complete and I really could not be more happy with the outcome. I think it's so pretty. I mean, cool. It's totally cool. Not pretty. We did learn that if you are ever working on a painting project with indented creases be extra careful when taping and painting. Because the paint is much more likely to bleed under the tape when the surfaces aren't flush to begin with.
