This year I really wanted Trey and I to decorate my tree together. Last year, the day after Christmas, was our first date. (!!!!!!!!!) So, it's our first Christmas together. And to me, decorating the tree is something you do with your family. I always LOVED decorating the tree at my parents house growing up. Since then I've usually decorated with room mates or whoever was around. But this year I was excited to start this tradition with my boyfriend.
We made our own ornaments out of sticks we painted. It is HEAVILY inspried by the artist Ginette Lapalme (check our her work, it's really pretty!). We added screw hooks to the tops that we bought from a home improvement store.
I really enjoyed the process of making our ornaments this year. I'm sure in years to come we will start collecting things from every year and that will be really exciting to. But I think I'll always remember these (super hipster, as my brother has called them) ornaments we made this first year together. 
We still need to get a star. And I'm thinking about making a tree skirt. We'll see. :) xo. Emma
